China Southern Airlines Flights From Vancouver

China Southern Airlines began flights from Vancouver to Guangzhou China on June 15, 2011. The airline flies to Vancouver three days a week. Flights arrive at YVR at 10:20 AM and depart for Guangzhou China at 12:00 PM Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (IATA airport code: CAN) is the main hub airport for China Southern. Flights to Guangzhou are on Boeing 777-200 aircraft. The planes have a seating capacity of 282 passengers.

Vancouver recently received Approved Destination Status from China. An important approval in the steps toward more Chinese business and tourism travel. The introduction of another airline with flight service to China will benefit business and tourist passengers to China with a greater choice in non-stop destinations and of course, more competition leads to better airfares.

The inaugural flight coincided with the final game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in Vancouver and the president of the airline was presented with a Canucks jersey with his name and the flight number 329 on the jersey.

Non-stop Flights to Guangzhou

This new flight from Vancouver is the only non-stop flight to to Guangzhou. Flights depart Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at noon from YVR
