Continental Airlines Flights To Vancouver

Update: In 2010, Continental and United Airlines merged operations. There was a substantial period of time required for the integration of the two airlines. In 2012 the merger was complete and the last Continental flight was March 3, 2012.  Flights are now with United Airlines.

Historical: Continental Airlines are members of the largest airline alliance in the world, Star Alliance. Through Continetal's membership in the Star Alliance and various codesharing arrangements with individual airlines, you can fly under the Continental ticket code to locations around the world. This is an important consideration for members of their frequent flyer program “OnePass”.

For flights within Canada to Vancouver, Air Canada is a significant alliance member with Continental. Air Canada is a member of the Star Alliance. For flights from the USA, Europe and Asia to Vancouver, Continental codeshare most of the flights with either United or Air Canada.

Strategical alliances to codeshare have been formed with other airlines outside of the Star Alliance to expand their network of flight routes. One of the most recent alliances is with Avianca Airlines which is Colombia's national airline. The Continental/Avianca alliance took place in March 2011. This alliance along with TACA Airlines and COPA Airlines opens up the Latin American market with flights to Central America and South America. Other notable alliances are with EVA Air, Hawaiian Airlines and Virgin Atlantic Airways.
